AAPG elects new president

Lee T. Billingsley was elected president of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists.

HOUSTON, June 10 -- Lee T. Billingsley was elected president of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists. His term will be 2006-07, after serving a year as president-elect.

Billingsley serves as vice-president, exploration, for San Antonio-based Abraxas Petroleum Corp. Previously, he worked for Tenneco Oil Co. and American Quasar Petroleum, and Sandia Oil & Gas Corp., which he founded in 1983 and served as president until merging with Abraxas.
