Kuwait lets facilities upgrade contract

Kuwait Oil Co. (KOC) has awarded a $680 million contract to Aberdeen-based oil services company Petrofac Ltd. to expand KOC's oil production capacity and implement safety and operational upgrades to its oil and gas facilities.

HOUSTON, Apr. 28 -- Kuwait Oil Co. (KOC) has awarded a $680 million contract to Aberdeen-based oil services company Petrofac Ltd. to expand KOC's oil production capacity and implement safety and operational upgrades to its oil and gas facilities.

The 2-year contract, to be executed through Petrofac's Engineering & Construction Division, covers the modernization of seven oil gathering centers and two booster stations, all in separate locations.

The project is scheduled for completion in 2007.
