HOUSTON, Apr. 22 -- Saudi Arabian Oil Co. (Saudi Aramco) on Apr. 11 discovered light oil in its Du'ayban-1 well in the Central Region about 125 km southeast of Riyadh, reported Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ali I. Al-Naimi Apr. 18 in Riyadh. Du'ayban field is just east of Saudi Aramco's Abu Rakiz oil and gas field discovered in 1995.

The 41° gravity Du'ayban oil, found at 10,260 ft, is free of sulfur, Al-Naimi said. He said the well is expected to produce 3,300 b/d of oil and 3 MMcfd of natural gas.
