Sibneft wins licenses in Western Siberia

Russia's Sibneft has won development rights for the Salymskiy-2 and Salymskiy-3 Blocks in the Khanty-Mansiisk Autonomous District of Western Siberia.

HOUSTON, Mar. 31 -- Russia's Sibneft has won development rights for the Salymskiy-2 and Salymskiy-3 Blocks in the Khanty-Mansiisk Autonomous District of Western Siberia.

Sibneft paid $12.37 million for Salymskiy-2, which has recoverable oil estimated at 25.94 million tonnes, and $7.23 million for the Salymskiy-3 block, with estimated recoverable oil of 23.42 million tonnes.

Sibneft receives exploration rights for 5 years and a guaranteed option to obtain production licenses.
