FERC OKs Williams' Transco pipeline project

The US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has granted Williams Cos. Inc., Tulsa, approval to expand its 8.1 million bcfd Transco pipeline in Burlington County, NJ.

HOUSTON, Feb. 15 -- The US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has granted Williams Cos. Inc., Tulsa, approval to expand its 8.1 million bcfd Transco pipeline in Burlington County, NJ.

The $13-million expansion will provide an additional 105,000 MMcfd of firm natural gas transportation service to South Jersey Gas Co.

Williams will begin laying the 3.5 miles of new 36-in. pipe this summer and expects to complete the project by November 2005.
