HOUSTON, Jan. 13 -- Woodside Petroleum Ltd. affiliate Woodside Energy (Kenya) Pty. Ltd. and its partner, Dana Petroleum PLC, Aberdeen, are acquiring 2D seismic data on Blocks L-5 and L-7 off Kenya using the Polar Duke seismic survey vessel.

The survey will build on and refine data acquired in a 2003 survey over the key prospects. Drilling is targeted for yearend 2005.

Dana said it is being carried on one half of the costs relating to its 40% interest in the blocks in accordance with terms of a two-for-one farmout agreement with Woodside.

The companies last September entered into a heads of agreement covering equity interests off Mauritania, Kenya, and Australia and a study area off Ghana (OGJ Online, Sept. 29, 2004).
