HOUSTON, Nov. 4 -- PPM Energy, the Portland, Ore.-based subsidiary of Scottish Power, is investing $200 million in the construction of two wind farms in the northwestern and north-central US.

The fully permitted 75-Mw Klondike II wind project in Sherman County, Ore., and 100-Mw Trimont wind project in southwestern Minnesota are expected to be operational in 2005.

PPM also has a 200 Mw of wind development in late-stage development.

PPM signed a 15-year power supply agreement with the Great River Energy cooperative for all output from Trimont. Negotiations are also under way for a long-term sales agreement for Klondike II's electricity.
