New head appointed at Nigeria LNG

Chris Haynes, Royal Dutch/Shell Exploration & Production director, Middle East, has been appointed managing director and CEO of Nigerian LNG Co.

HOUSTON, Nov. 15 -- Chris Haynes, Royal Dutch/Shell Exploration & Production director, Middle East, has been appointed managing director and CEO of Nigerian LNG Co. (NLNG).

Haynes succeeds Andrew Jamieson, who will become a director of Shell Gas & Power. Haynes's appointment, subject to final NLNG board approval, becomes effective Dec. 1.

Haynes joined Shell in 1972. Haynes arrived in Nigeria in 1996 as technical manager for Shell E&P and later became general manager, production east.

NLNG is a joint venture owned by Nigerian National Petroleum Corp. 49%, Shell 25.6%, Total SA 15%, and Agip SPA 10.4%.
