HOUSTON, Nov. 24 -- Fort Chicago Energy Partners LP, Calgary, plans to acquire the Alberta ethane gathering system (AEGS) for $270 million (Can.). The deal is expected to close by yearend.

The 1,324-km pipeline system delivers feedstock to the Joffre, Alta., ethylene facilities of NOVA Chemicals Corp. and Dow Chemical Canada Inc. It also delivers ethane to Dow Chemical's Fort Saskatchewan, Alta., ethylene facilities.

Fort Chicago said NOVA Chemicals will operate AEGS.
