EOG Resources makes executive appointments

HOUSTON, Nov. 1 -- EOG Resources Inc. reported several executive appointments.

Steven B. Coleman has been promoted to senior vice-president and general manager-Tyler. In his new position, Coleman will supervise EOG's exploration and production operations in East Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi.

Previously, he served as vice-president and general manager of EOG-Oklahoma City, where he managed E&P operations in Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas, and the Texas Panhandle.

Coleman joined EOG in 1992 in Corpus Christi, Tex., where he coordinated Lobo Trend E&P operations. Prior to joining EOG, Coleman held various engineering and production management positions with Exxon Co. USA.

Kurt D. Doerr has been promoted to senior vice-president and general manager-Denver. Doerr will head up EOG's E&P operations in the Rocky Mountain states and California. Doerr started his career as an engineer with Schlumberger Ltd. in 1978 and joined EOG in 1982.

Doerr held various engineering and production positions in EOG's Oklahoma City and Corpus Christi offices until he was named vice-president and general manager-Corpus Christi in 1994. In 1996, he was named vice-president and general manager of Venezuelan operations.

Steve Weatherl was recently promoted to vice-president and general manager-Midland. In his new position, Weatherl will oversee EOG's E&P operations in the Permian basin and New Mexico.

Weatherl started his career with Exxon Co. USA in 1980 as an exploration geologist in Corpus Christi. He also worked for Pioneer Natural Resources Inc. and its predecessor companies during 1990-97, serving in various positions and ultimately as vice-president, domestic exploration.

He joined EOG in 1999 as exploration manager for the Midland office.
