CLNG names former Anadarko executive as director

Richard J. Sharples, a former Anadarko Petroleum Corp. executive, has been named executive director of the Center for Liquefied Natural Gas (CLNG).

HOUSTON, Nov. 10 -- Richard J. Sharples, a former Anadarko Petroleum Corp. executive, has been named executive director of the Center for Liquefied Natural Gas (CLNG).

Sharples, who has chaired the Natural Gas Supply Association and the Natural Gas Council, has worked in natural gas and crude oil marketing, strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, and investor and government relations.

As senior vice-president with Anadarko during 2001-04, Sharples supervised all corporate marketing activities and corporate strategic planning. He has also had extensive international experience, including business responsibilities in Norway, Algeria, Canada, Qatar, Indonesia, Japan, Singapore, China, and South Korea.

CLNG has more than 50 members, including LNG asset owners and operators, gas transporters, and natural gas users.
