Cabot to build carbon black plant in Tianjin, China

HOUSTON, Nov. 12 -- Cabot Corp., Boston, and its joint venture partner Shanghai Coking & Chemical Co. plan to build a world class carbon black plant in Tianjin, China.

The first production unit, which will have an estimated capacity of 50,000 tonnes/year, is scheduled to begin production in early 2006. Expansion of the plant is planned for later in 2006, Cabot reported.
