Vaalco Energy completes Etame ET-5H development well off Gabon

Vaalco Energy Inc. has completed the ET-5H development well in Etame field, off Gabon. About 6,400 b/d of oil flowed to the floating production, storage, and offloading facility through a 48/64-in. choke, the operator said.

HOUSTON, Aug. 24 -- Vaalco Energy Inc. has completed the ET-5H development well in Etame field, off Gabon. About 6,400 b/d of oil flowed to the floating production, storage, and offloading facility through a 48/64-in. choke, the operator said.

ET-5H is the fourth producing well in Etame field. Vaalco plans to raise the production level slowly until production is stabilized at 6,500-7,500 b/d over the next few weeks until total field production exceeds 21,000 b/d of oil.

Consortium partners are PanAfrican Energy Gabon Corp. 31.36%, Vaalco Energy 28.07%, Sasol Petroleum West Africa (Ltd.) 27.75%, Energy Africa Gabon 7.5%, Sojitz Etame Ltd. 2.98%, and PetroEnergy Resources Corp. 2.34%.
