CNOOC's QK 18-2 oilfield in production

CNOOC Ltd. reported that its 100% owned Qikou (QK) 18-2, oil field in western Bohai Bay has come on stream, successfully producing more than 2,800 b/d of oil from five wells through a production platform and subsea pipeline.

HOUSTON, July 26 -- CNOOC Ltd. reported that its 100% owned Qikou (QK) 18-2, oil field in western Bohai Bay has come on stream, successfully producing more than 2,800 b/d of oil from five wells through a production platform and subsea pipeline.

QK18-2 is a part of the Boxi oil fields, sharing some production facilities with them, and is located about 6 km southwest of producing field QK 18-1.

"We have a busy development schedule this year," CNOOC Pres. Zhou Shouwei commented. "This and other development will help us achieve offshore China's production target and allow us to take advantage of the current oil prices."
