HOUSTON, June 22 -- Oil & Gas Development Co. Ltd. in Pakistan (OGDCL), which reportedly holds 46% of the oil reserves and 37% of gas reserves in that country, selected advanced pipeline leak detection software from Energy Solutions International in Houston for its Qadirpur pipeline system.

A monetary amount was not given for that deal. Implementation will begin immediately on the OGDCL interfield gathering system, which carries medium to high volumes of natural gas from 18 wells in the Qadirpur gas field. After processing, the gas is fed into the country's main distribution network.

Energy Solutions engineers also will train OGDCL personnel to use the system. The project is in conjunction with other efforts to enhance pipeline operational safety and improve profitability through the confluence of information and process technology, officials said.
