BP awards subsea system contract for Plutonio project off Angola

BP PLC has awarded FMC Kongsberg Subsea AS, a unit of FMC Technologies Inc., Houston, to supply subsea systems and related services for the BP-operated Greater Plutonio project on Block 18 off Angola.

HOUSTON, June 25 -- BP PLC has awarded FMC Kongsberg Subsea AS, a unit of FMC Technologies Inc., Houston, to supply subsea systems and related services for the BP-operated Greater Plutonio project on Block 18 off Angola. The initial contract value is about $270 million.

The FMC unit's scope of supply for the entire project is expected to include 45 subsea trees and associated structures, manifolds and production control systems, as well as connection systems for flowlines and umbilicals.

FMC Technologies also will supply technical services related to installation and startup. Deliveries will be completed over a multiyear period and are slated to begin in early 2005.
