GASCO taps Jacobs Engineering for sulfur-recovery work in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi Gas Industries Ltd. (GASCO) awarded a process design and engineering service contract to Jacobs Engineering Group Inc., Pasadena, Calif., for two sulfur-recovery units and an acid gas enrichment unit.

HOUSTON, May 18 -- Abu Dhabi Gas Industries Ltd. (GASCO) awarded a process design and engineering service contract to Jacobs Engineering Group Inc., Pasadena, Calif., for two sulfur-recovery units and an acid gas enrichment unit.

GASCO is expanding the Habshan gas complex in Abu Dhabi to help meet increasing crude oil production needs by boosting its sulfur recovery capacity by 1600 tons/day. The value of the contract was not disclosed.

Jacobs will provide Superclaus proprietary technology, which already has been used in more than 140 operating units. Jacobs helps clients meet increasingly stringent environmental regulations worldwide.
