North Sea operators award Stolt Offshore $120 million in contracts

Five operators in the North Sea—BP PLC, Paladin Expro Ltd., Wintershall Noordzee BV, Statoil ASA , and ConocoPhillips— awarded contracts or letters of intent totaling $120 million to London-based Stolt Offshore SA.

HOUSTON, Apr. 12 -- Operators in the North Sea awarded contracts or letters of intent totaling $120 million to London-based Stolt Offshore SA:

· BP PLC awarded construction and installation of the Clair Phase 1 gas import-export system in the UK sector and a tie-in of Clair oil and gas pipeline systems. BP also awarded the design and construction of an 18-in. hot tap into the 36-in. BP Forties pipeline system.

· Paladin Expro Ltd. awarded installation of 8.5 km of 10-in. water injection line between the Montrose and Arbroath platforms on the UK Continental Shelf. Stolt Offshore also received a letter of intent for engineering, procurement, installation, and commissioning of a 29 km, 12-in. pipeline system in the southern sector.

· The German oil company Wintershall Noordzee BV awarded a contract for installation of 13.5 km of 8-in. pipeline and a service umbilical between the Q5-A subsea completion and the platform at Q8-B in the Dutch sector.

· Statoil ASA awarded a contract for installation work on the Aasgard field in the Norwegian sector, and a letter of intent for the design, fabrication, and installation of a 16-in. gas riser system at the Visund platform.

· ConocoPhillips contracted the Stolt Offshore and London-based Subsea 7 Group JV for construction work associated with the Ekofisk subsea area development and 2/4 A pipeline replacement projects.
