Florida Gov. Bush approves Tractebel Calypso pipeline

Florida's Gov. Jeb Bush Tuesday approved Tractebel Calypso Pipeline LLC's proposed 42 mile pipeline in Florida and US waters and along a 6 mile onshore route in Broward County, Fla.

HOUSTON, Apr. 13 -- Florida's Gov. Jeb Bush Tuesday approved Tractebel Calypso Pipeline LLC's proposed 42 mile natural gas pipeline in Florida and US waters and along a 6 mile onshore route in Broward County, Fla. Tractebel now has all major US approvals required to proceed with the project.

The proposed pipeline will transport natural gas via a 165 mile, 24-in. pipeline from a planned Tractebel Bahamas LNG Ltd. LNG storage and regasification facility in Freeport, Grand Bahama to Port Everglades, Fla. Tractebel anticipates transporting 832 MMcfd of natural gas into Florida, beginning in 2007 (OGJ Online, Jan. 29, 2004).
