HOUSTON, Mar. 25 -- First Calgary Petroleums' (FCP) Ltd.'s fourth appraisal well in MLE field in eastern Algeria, confirmed MLE's southward extension over a large area within Ledjmet Block 405b. MLE-4 encountered five hydrocarbon zones with cumulative net pay over 56 m.

On test, the well flowed 23 MMcfd of natural gas and 1,223 b/d of condensate from the Carboniferous F1A at 2000 psi. MLE-5 production testing should begin shortly, after which development can begin. Production is to start in 2007.
