HOUSTON, Feb. 16 -- Houston-based Crystal Energy LLC said it has submitted applications to the US Coast Guard and the California State Lands Commission for its 1bcfd Crystal Clearwater Port LNG project off California, initiating an environmental review process in about 30 days.

The $300 million project calls for modifying the existing "Platform Grace," 11 miles off Ventura County, to import LNG and deliver regasified gas ashore via a new gas pipeline (OGJ Online, Feb. 3, 2004).
