HOUSTON, Dec. 19 -- Brazil state oil firm Petróleo Brasileiro SA (Petrobras) said it plans Friday to sign three contracts totaling close to $1 billion for the construction of its P-52 offshore platform to be installed in Roncador field in Campos basin off Brazil.
The three basic contracts to be signed and their values are:
-- A $82.6 million contract with Rolls-Royce Power Engineering PLC for the supply, assembly, operation, and maintenance of the platform's electricity generation modules.
-- A $65.8 million contract with Nuovo Pignone SPA for the supply and assembly of the platform's gas compression modules.
-- A $775 million contract with Fels Setal/Technip Consortium for the engineering, procurement, construction, and assembly of the platform (hull and topside).
Including $170 million in Brazilian excise taxes, the net value of the three contracts will be $753 million, Petrobras said.
The Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) is to finance the contracts' domestic sourcing of services and equipment.
The platform will have a production capacity of 180,000 b/d of oil.
