FMC, PipeCare assume assets of NUI Marine AS; form new company

FMC Energy Systems, Houston, and Statoil ASA subsidiary PipeCare AS jointly have purchased the assets and activities of NUI Marine AS of Gravdal, Bergen, Norway, and created a new company—FieldCare AS—which will be based at Coast Center Base outside Bergen.

HOUSTON, Dec. 15 -- FMC Energy Systems, Houston, and Statoil ASA subsidiary PipeCare AS jointly have purchased the assets and activities of NUI Marine AS of Gravdal, Bergen, Norway, and created a new company—FieldCare AS—which will be based at Coast Center Base outside Bergen.

NUI Marine has 18 employees and serves the Norwegian market on subsea tool handling and the international survey market with its Autonom Underwater Vehicle of the Hugin type.

FieldCare, owned 51% by FMC and 49% by PipeCare, will specialize in subsea repair and maintenance on pipelines and seabed facilities in producing fields, initially for Norwegian customers and later for international players.

Statoil said PipeCare also has purchased all the shares in PetroCare AS and now is responsible for its employees and assets. PetroCare primarily supplies logistics and project management services to major Norwegian oil and gas operators.
