HOUSTON, Dec. 17 -- BOC Group, Murray Hill, NJ, has commissioned a hydrogen plant at Citgo Petroleum Corp.'s Lemont, Ill., refinery. The plant will enable the refinery to produce gasoline that meets or exceeds the standard set by the Environmental Protection Agency's Tier 2 clean fuels regulation.

BOC recently commissioned an oxygen supply system at the Lemont refinery as well. The oxygen is used in Tulsa-based Citgo's Claus sulfur recovery unit to convert hydrogen sulfide to sulfur, which decreases sulfur dioxide emissions from Citgo's automotive fuel products.
