PDVSA launches tender for maintenance at CRP plants

Petróleos de Venezuela SA has launched a public tender for private local companies to secure 7 contracts for the upcoming routine maintenance of the state oil firm's plants.

HOUSTON, Nov. 11 -- Petróleos de Venezuela SA (PDVSA) launched a public tender Nov. 3 for private local companies to secure 7 contracts for the upcoming routine maintenance of the state oil firm's plants at the Paraguana Refining Complex (CRP), in northwestern part of the country, OPECNA News Agency reported. No contract amounts were released.

According to OPECNA, Jesus Sanchez, maintenance manager of PDVSA's refining division, was reported by state news agency Venpres as saying that the contracts up for tender involved both major and routine maintenance work at various CRP plants. Contract work includes deep and medium conversion at Cardon refinery, medium conversion at Amuay refinery on its distillation and lubricants plant, as well as auxiliary supplies and general repairs.

The tender will be concluded Dec. 2.
