FGT boosts natural gas deliveries with Phase VI expansion

HOUSTON, Nov. 12 -- Florida Gas Transmission Co. (FGT) reported Nov. 1 it placed into service its $100 million the Phase VI expansion facilities for rendering winter service.

In total, the project will provides 121 MMcfd of incremental firm gas transportation service. FGT's Phase VI expansion comprises 33 miles of pipeline and 18,600 hp of compression. The expansion project is supported by long-term firm service agreements for the incremental service.

With the addition of the expansion, FGT said that its system has more than 2.1 bcfd of gas capacity available for electric generation, local distribution, and industrial customers throughout Florida.

FGT is a wholly owned subsidiary of Citrus Corp., which is owned jointly by Enron Corp. and El Paso Corp. unit Southern Natural Gas Co.
