Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. let a contract to SNC-Lavalin International Inc., Calgary, to determine the most suitable method of recovering carbon dioxide from boilers and steam reformers.

HOUSTON, Oct. 7 -- Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. let a contract to SNC-Lavalin International Inc., Calgary, to determine the most suitable method of recovering carbon dioxide from boilers and steam reformers.

ADNOC will use the CO2 to improve oil recovery from the Thamama B oil reservoir at Bab field in the Persian Gulf.

The study is expected to last 8 months and includes the evaluation and selection of the latest CO2 recovery technologies, as well as pipelining, CO2 injection, and oil recovery considerations.
