Four Pakistan discoveries made in Sindh Province

Pakistan's Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources reported four recent oil and natural gas discoveries, all in Sindh Province, Pakistan, during the last month.

KARACHI, Sept. 15 -- Pakistan's Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources reported four recent oil and natural gas discoveries, all in Sindh Province, Pakistan, during the last month:

-- BP Pakistan Exploration & Production Inc., Islamabad, made an oil discovery with its Shah Dino-1 well on Block No. 2468-2 (Badin-III). A successful drill stem test was carried out which produced 760 b/d of oil at a wellhead flowing pressure of 1,100 psi on a 16/64-in. choke.

-- Oil & Gas Development Co. Ltd., Islamabad, made a natural gas condensate discovery with its Dars-1 well on the Tando Allah Yar Block. The well was spudded June 22 and reached 2,170 m TD. A successful drill stem test produced 350 b/d of 51° gravity condensate and 8.5 MMcfd of gas at a wellhead flowing pressure of 2,090 psi on a 32/64-in. choke.

-- Orient Petroleum Inc. (OPI) made a gas condensate discovery on Block No. 2568-6 (Khipra) with its Siraj South-1 well. The well was spudded May 5 and reached 3,218 m TD. A successful drill stem test produced 400 b/d of condensate, with 24.3 MMcfd of gas flowing at a wellhead pressure of 2,450 psi on a 48/64-in. choke.

-- The fourth discovery, also by OPI, was gas discovered on Block No. 2568-7 (Mirpur Khas) from OPI's Kausar-1 well. A successful drill stem test produced 24.2 MMcfd of gas at a wellhead flowing pressure of 3,330 psi on 40/64-in. choke.
