HOUSTON, Sept. 4 -- ConocoPhillips has appointed Chris Conway as president of ConocoPhillips Gas and Power. He succeeded J. Mike Stice, who was recently named president of ConocoPhillips Qatar.

Conway joined the company 23 years ago. Most recently, he was general manager of ConocoPhillips' Americas crude supply and trading operations. Previously, he managed the company's specialty products unit and also was manager of strategy and business development for European refining and marketing.

Stice, who was president of ConocoPhillips Gas and Power for 5 years, will lead the company's Qatar LNG project. ConocoPhillips and Qatar Petroleum signed a heads of agreement for the development of Qatargas 3, a large-scale LNG project to be built in Qatar and to provide LNG to the US (OGJ Online, July 11, 2003).
