HOUSTON, Aug. 5 -- Motor Oil Hellas Corinth Refineries SA, one of the largest Greek refining companies, has let a 7.45 million euro contract to Florence-based GE Oil & Gas to supply compressors, additional equipment, and services for a refinery expansion project in Corinth, Greece.
GE, a unit of GE Power Systems, Atlanta, will supply two 4HG/3 reciprocating compressors, a set of process gas pressure vessels, a lube oil and cooling water auxiliary system, local panel and instrumentation, spare parts for commissioning and start-up, supervision for erection and start-up, and training at the site. The reciprocating compressors, rated at 6,000 kw each, will provide hydrogen-treating service, which will assist in increasing the plant's output, GE said.
GE also will provide one BCL 509/A centrifugal compressor, a lube oil and cooling water auxiliary system, a local panel and instrumentation, commissioning, a 2-year supply of spare parts, erection and start-up supervision, and training at the site for the compressor and turbine.
The equipment will be manufactured at GE Oil & Gas facilities in Italy. Delivery of the reciprocating compressors is expected by Apr. 30, 2004, and the centrifugal compressor by May 30, 2004. Both compressors are expected to be installed and operating by yearend 2004 or the beginning of 2005.
