HOUSTON, May 14 -- Shell Canada Products recently commissioned two gasoline hydrotreaters at its refineries in Montréal, Que., and Sarnia, Ont., in Canada to supply ultra-low sulfur gasoline to the Canadian market well ahead of the Jan. 1, 2005 date when the Canadian regulations call for 30 ppm average sulfur in gasoline.
The units use Axens IPF Group Technologies' Prime-G+ technology process to reduce sulfur in the FCC unit, which is the largest contributor of sulfur to the gasoline pool. The units were brought on line in December 2002.
