Aramco taps Snamprogetti to build new Yanbu refinery units

Saudi Arabian Oil Co. (Aramco) has awarded a turnkey contract to Snamprogetti SPA' s British subsidiary Snamprogetti Ltd. to build two new units at Aramco's Yanbu refinery in Saudi Arabia.

HOUSTON, Apr. 17 -- Saudi Arabian Oil Co. (Aramco) has awarded a turnkey contract to Snamprogetti SPA' s British subsidiary Snamprogetti Ltd. to build two new units at Aramco's Yanbu refinery in Saudi Arabia.

Snamprogetti will provide engineering design, procurement, and construction of a 40,000 b/d continuous catalyst regeneration (CCR) unit and a 15,000 b/d light straight-run naphtha isomerization unit to enhance the production of unleaded gasoline at the refinery.

The work is scheduled for completion by 2005.

Snamprogetti is the engineering and construction subsidiary of Milan-based ENI SPA.
