BP unit awards Foster Wheeler Clean Fuels project for BP's Coryton refinery

BP PLC unit BP Oil UK Ltd. has awarded Foster Wheeler Ltd.'s UK unit, Foster Wheeler Energy, an engineering, procurement, and construction management contract for BP's Clean Fuels gasoline project.

HOUSTON, Feb. 7 -- BP PLC unit BP Oil UK Ltd. has awarded Foster Wheeler Ltd.'s UK unit, Foster Wheeler Energy Ltd., an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) management contract for BP's Clean Fuels gasoline project at its Coryton refinery at Essex, England.

The Foster Wheeler unit has already conducted a front-end engineering design contract for BP, which included early procurement of specific long-lead equipment and the undertaking of site-enabling works to facilitate the project's fast-track EPC phase.

"The combination of our extensive clean-fuels experience and successful track record, plus flexible execution from our Teesside operations office, positions Foster Wheeler ideally to support BP in achieving successful project delivery," said Steve Davies, director, regional operations, Foster Wheeler Energy Ltd.

The project will be carried out from Foster Wheeler's Teesside operations office in Middlesbrough.
