HOUSTON, Oct. 21 -- Mark S. Dodson has been appointed CEO of Portland, Ore.-based natural gas distribution company NW Natural Gas Co., effective Jan. 1, 2003. Dodson succeeds Richard G. Reiten, who will remain chairman of NW Natural's board.
Dodson joined NW natural in 1997 serving as senior vice-president, public affairs, and general counsel. He was appointed to the position of president and chief operating officer in May 2001. During 1980-97, he worked as a partner in the law firm Ater Wynne Hewitt Dodson & Skerrit in Portland, Ore. Prior to that, he worked in the general counsel's office of the US Department of Transportation. Dodson then became special counsel to the Federal Aviation Administrator in Washington, DC.
