HOUSTON, Oct. 15 -- Deer Lake Oil and Gas Inc., St. John's, set intermediate casing at 490 m at its Western Adventure-2 wildcat in the Deer Lake basin in western Newfoundland.

The company is operator and 100% working interest holder in Exploration Permit 93-103, where the well targets intervals of the Carboniferous-aged, sandstone-dominated North Brook formation. Deer Lake is continuously coring the well using a slimhole rig. Planned TD is 1,300 m.
