HOUSTON, Sept. 10 -- Robert L. Cavnar has been named chairman and CEO of Houston-based independent exploration and production company Mission Resources Corp.
Cavnar has more than 27 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Most recently, he served as senior vice-president and chief financial officer of El Paso Production Co., a unit of Houston-based El Paso Corp. He had held numerous senior operating and financial positions at El Paso Field Services, also an El Paso unit.
Prior to working at El Paso, Cavnar held senior management positions with Cornerstone Natural Gas Inc., Dallas, and with New York City-based Chase Manhattan Bank's global energy division.
