HOUSTON, June 17 -- Devon Energy Corp., Oklahoma City, said it has drilled four successful gas wells in the West Cameron area off Louisiana with the aid of four-component 3D seismic data.
Two wells are on West Cameron Blocks 534 and 536, where Devon has 100% interest. Combined initial gross production from the two was 36 MMcfd. The other two wells are on West Cameron Block 532, where Devon has 67% interest. Combined initial gross production from these two wells was 30 MMcfd. Devon operates all four wells.
Newfield Exploration Co., Houston, holds 33% interest in the wells on Block 532. Devon has licensed two large 4C seismic surveys covering 660 sq miles.
