HOUSTON, June 7 -- Authorities in France said RSM Production Corp., Denver, whose chairman and CEO is private explorer Jack Grynberg, applied for a 4-year exploration permit designated 9269 Corvette.

The parcel consists of two blocks totaling 3,968 sq km in the Atlantic Ocean 65-220 miles south of the island group off south-central Newfoundland.

The application will become formal once approved by St.-Pierre and Miquelon authorities and the French relevant administration. Once formalized, notice will be published in the European Union Commission's official Gazette, giving other interested companies 90 days from publication to apply in competition with RSM.
