HOUSTON, Jan. 29 -- Technigaz, a wholly owned subsidiary of French company Bouygues Offshore SA, and privately held Zachry Construction Corp., San Antonio, have formed a partnership to work on liquefied natural gas projects in the US.

The companies are already working together on a number of tenders for LNG tank construction in the US and Mexico, said Bouygues Offshore.

The partnership, to be called Technigaz-Zachry, was formed with a marketing and technical agreement that covers the design and construction of onshore LNG import projects and tanks, as well as offshore gravity base structure terminals in the US, Mexico, Canada, and the Caribbean.

Bouygues Offshore said, "This seamless fit will enable Technigaz-Zachry to play a major role in the high-potential, fast-growing LNG market."

Zachry Construction constructs and maintains power plants, steel mills, pulp and paper mills, chemical plants, and refineries as well as dams, reservoirs, airfields, runways, highways, and bridges, and wastewater treatment plants. It also performs other commercial construction. It is owned by HB Zachry Co., which has operations in oil and gas exploration, hospitality, and entertainment, among others.
