National-Oilwell acquires HAL Oilfield Pump & Equipment

National-Oilwell Inc., Houston, has acquired HAL Oilfield Pump & Equipment Co., Houston. Financial terms were not disclosed. In 2001, HALCO generated $17.5 million in revenue.

HOUSTON, Jan. 11 -- National-Oilwell Inc. has acquired HAL Oilfield Pump & Equipment Co. for an undisclosed sum.

Both firms have Houston headquarters. Financial terms were not disclosed. In 2001, HALCO generated $17.5 million in revenue.

HALCO specializes in the design, manufacture and distribution of centrifugal pumps, pump packages, and related products.

Pete Miller, president and CEO of National-Oilwell, said, "We are extremely pleased to have HALCO join National-Oilwell. Their system design and packaging expertise is an ideal fit with our line of Mission drilling expendable products, and they bring additional product offerings, including brake cooling packages, that complement other areas of our business. National-Oilwell designs, manufactures, and sells systems and components used in oil and gas drilling and production. It also provides upstream supply chain integration services.
