Williams to provide gas to Redbud power plant in Oklahoma

HOUSTON, Oct. 15 -- Williams Cos. Inc., Tulsa, agreed to provide 51,980 dekatherms/day of firm natural gas transportation service to a power plant near Luther, Okla.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Williams' Central pipeline unit will apply to the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to build a 30-in., 13-mile pipeline to carry gas to Redbud Energy LP's power plant under construction near Luther.

The plant should begin operation June 1, 2003, said Williams, which expects the 13-mile line to be in service by Dec. 15, 2002.

Energetix, Oklahoma City, and InterGen, a joint venture of a unit of the Royal Dutch/Shell Group and Bechtel Inc., are codeveloping the Redbud Energy project.

In June, ONEOK Gas Transportation LLC agreed to provide transportation service for up to 200 MMcfd of gas to the Redbud 1,100-Mw combined cycle generating plant,
