Norsk Hydro awards Tune field pipeline repair in North Sea

Norsk Hydro AS has awarded the Stolt-Halliburton Joint Venture a $6 million contract to perform repairs on Tune field pipeline off Norway.

HOUSTON, Oct. 15 -- Norsk Hydro AS has awarded the Stolt-Halliburton Joint Venture a $6 million contract to perform repairs on Tune field pipeline off Norway.

The JV is an undertaking of UK company Stolt Offshore SA and Halliburton Co., Dallas.

Under the contract, the Stolt-Halliburton JV will use a pipeline repair system owned by the Statpipe License and the Oseberg Transportation System and administered by Statoil AS.

The venture will perform the work at the same time it carries out Statoil AS's $100 million contract to repair to flowline welds at Åsgard field in the Norwegian Sea (OGJ Online, Oct. 12, 2001).
