HOUSTON, Oct. 4 -- Gasco Energy Inc., Denver, and Burlington Resources Inc., Houston, agreed to explore a series of deep natural gas plays in Wyoming's Green River basin.

Financial terms were not released. The seven prospects are on 332,000 acres in west central Wyoming. Burlington will be operator with a 50% interest, Gasco will have 25%, and a private company will have 25%.

Burlington will acquire 180 miles of high-resolution 2D seismic data and must drill two wells at its own expense. The partners will proportionately share the costs of subsequent wells.

Burlington must make drilling decisions on the prospects by August 2003.
