Clyde Petroleum has gas discovery off Netherlands

Conoco's recently acquired subsidiary, Clyde Petroleum Exploratie BV, has another gas discovery near a cluster of fields off the Netherlands.

LONDON, Oct. 30 -- Conoco Inc.'s recently acquired Dutch subsidiary, Clyde Petroleum Exploratie BV, has its seventh commercial discovery off the Netherlands in the past 3 years.

The Q4-10 flowed at an unstimulated rate of 43 MMcfd from a lower 56 m perforated interval and at an unstimulated rate of 39 MMcfd from an upper 40 m perforated interval. Both tests were within longer reservoir sections.

The Q4-10 is 10 km from Clyde-operated pipeline and production facilities. The discovery is being described as commercial, but will need appraisal to determine optimum development.

The discovery extends from block Q4 into block Q1 and will be named Q1-A.

Clyde is operator with 45.46%. Energie Beheer Nederland BV has 40%, DSM Energie BV 10.32%, CLAM Petroleum BV 2.77%, and Dyas Nederland BV 1.45%.
