HOUSTON, Oct. 25 -- Clyde Petroleum Exploratie BV, a wholly owned subsidiary of Conoco Inc., brought on stream P6-D field off the Netherlands.
The field began production 19 months after its discovery in March 2000. The P6-9 discovery well tested at 45 MMcfd of gas with wellhead pressure of 2,450 psi from a 50-m perforated interval in the Triassic and 9 MMcfd from the Permian.
Clyde moved a multi-purpose platform, specifically designed for reuse, from a depleted field to the new field.
The expected initial production rate is 70 MMscfd. The gas is transported via a 12-in. pipeline 6 miles to Clyde's P6 main platform for processing.
Clyde said this is its third field in 10 months to begin production.
Conoco acquired Clyde Petroleum as part of its acquisition of Gulf Canada Resources Ltd. Clyde Petroleum operates the field with 29.4% interest; Dyas Nederland BV owns 20.85%; Energie Beheer Nederland BV, 40%; and Holland Sea Search BV, 9.75%.
