HOUSTON, Sept. 17 -- The Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy has issued an invitation to apply for 68 whole or partial blocks in the North Sea.
The deadline for applications is Dec. 7, and the awards will be made in first quarter 2002.
The acreage totals 68 whole or partial blocks, chosen by the government with preference for those near existing development infrastructure with future spare capacity. They are:

-- 2/1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11
-- 3/5, 7 and 8
-- 6/3
-- 7/1, 4, 7, 10, 11 and 12
-- 8/10
-- 15/5, 6, 8 and 12
-- 16/7 and 10
-- 25/1, 2, 4, 7 and 8
-- 29/6 and 9
-- 30/2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12
-- 31/1, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7
-- 33/9 and 12
-- 34/4, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 12
