Bergesen Offshore awards oil processing systems contracts to ABB

Bergesen Offshore, a Norway-based production contractor, has awarded a $95 million contract to ABB Group to build and operate the oil processing systems on two floating production, storage, and offloading vessels.

HOUSTON, Sept. 5 -- Bergesen Offshore, a Norway-based floating production contractor, has awarded a $95 million contract to ABB Group to build and operate the oil processing systems on two floating production, storage, and offloading vessels.

The cost of the contract was not disclosed.

The FPSO Berge Hus will be ready for operation in January 2002, with capacity to process 160,000 b/d of liquids. The Berge Helene will be ready for operation in summer 2002, with capacity to process 60,000 b/d of oil.

ABB will design and build both oil processing units, including control and automation systems, and run them for 4 years or longer.

ABB has provided and is operating the processing module for the FPSO Sendje Berge at Ceiba field off Equatorial Guinea.
