RWE-DEA AG said dismantling and removal of the two Schwedeneck-See offshore production platforms is in full progress and will continue through the year. Actual removal of the platforms will occur next summer. After cleaning and removal, the steel decks and superstructures will be dismantled, and the scrap will be loaded on barges. The project should be complete by end 2002.
TotalFinaElf SA installed a production platform on Block K1a in the Dutch sector of the North Sea, 150 km northwest of Den Helder. Startup of gas production from two wells is planned early next year. The platform will produce 3 million cu m/day of gas. Drilling will begin before the end of August. Other partners in the block are Energie Beheer Nederland BV and Nederlandse Aardolie Maatschappij (NAM).
Carrizo Oil & Gas Inc., Houston, said Louisiana Delta Farms No. 1 well on LaRose prospect in Lafourche Parish, La., flowed on test 11.6 MMcfd of gas and 1,466 b/d of condensate on a 16/64-in. choke with flowing tubing pressure of 9,740 psi from 18 net ft of pay.
Statoil ASA, Stavanger, has invited tenders for the Kristin platform in the Norwegian Sea. Bid deadline is Oct. 1. The main contract will be an engineering, procurement, construction and hook-up job covering the platform. This will probably be awarded in December; contracts for the hull and other modules will be signed in the second quarter of 2002.
