BANGKOK, July 2 -- The Bongkot consortium is considering developing its three other gas reservoirs in southern Gulf of Thailand as part of a strategy to boost overall gas and condensate output.

However, lack of gas demand in Thailand will likely delay production starts for Ton Nok Yoon, Ton Koon, and Bongkot South until 2007-08, when gas demand is expected to increase.

The European-Thai group, led by PTT Exploration & Production PLC aims to raise hydrocarbon output from Bongkot concession, on Blocks 15, 16, and 13/38, to 150,000 boe/d from the current 112,000.

The partners, which include PTT Exploration & Production PLC and TotalFinaElf SA, are studying the $100 million development, dubbed Phase 4.

The 3C plan, now ongoing, seeks to arrest production decline from Bongkot field (OGJ Online, Apr. 27, 2001).
