HOUSTON, June 11 -- The Swedish company Sydgas has awarded a contract to a consortium of the German contractors Bohlen & Doyen and Ludwig Freytag, Swedish Pihl Aarsleff AB, and Danish Per Aarsleff AS to lay a gas line.
The contract has a value of 65 million Swedish kroner ($5.96 million) and involves the laying of 45 km of gas line near Halmstad in southern Sweden.
The pipeline will reinforce the gas distribution network in Sweden, where Aarsleff has previously worked.
The latest contract comprises installation, including welding of high-pressure 40-cm and 20-cm pipelines. The work will start Mar. 1, 2002, and completion is slated for October 2002.
